Mother of two, Marion had been a popular primary school teacher at the Southport school on the Gold Coast when, in March 1997, she suddenly quit her job, sold her house and announced she was going to take a trip of a lifetime to the UK and Europe. On Sunday 22nd June 1997 Marion boarded a plane and left Australia for the UK. Sally received postcards and a call, but she never saw her mother again.
