More than a Podcast…Best Training of My Career

I have been in law enforcement for over two decades, and am now in the role of detective. I specialize in crimes against women and children. For more than a year now, I have binged every episode of Laura’s, both here and on Real Crime Profile. She has filled in the gaps with what was missing in all my years of training at work by helping me better understand the perpetrators and centering the victims. I listen to her every morning during my commute, and incorporate her wisdom into my police reports. Thanks to what I learned from her, I recently charged a DV suspect with stalking, and he immediately plead guilty. This was not only the first stalking arrest of my career, but the first time it was ever charged in our municipal court. Without Laura opening my eyes to what most of us miss, this guy would’ve gotten away with it, and would’ve continued his escalating stalking tactics, or worse. Her passion is contagious, and she is the missing link that all investigators need to learn from to better help victims and prevent future crimes.
