I’ve really taken time to find the words I want to use to express my deepest gratitude for Laura’s work and Crime Analyst. Laura’s work and listening to Crime Analyst is
- Giving me words for my experience.
- Providing a new framework and giving me permission to put my (and others) experience at the centre of my story.
- Because I can begin to centre myself, and with accurate words describing what happened, it’s allowed space to heal at a whole new level - with true worth for this life at the centre, and finding genuine compassion for my experiences. That compassion has only arisen as I can now accurately label what’s happened, identify what was not healthy, and from there know that it wasn’t my fault.
- It’s given me a language to identify what I see in the world.
- It’s given me a language that keeps me out of confusion and to trust myself living in the patriarchy.
- Be curious, ask questions and always trust your instincts. This is so permission giving and empowering.
- Listening to Laura, with her immense intelligence, huge compassion, fierce professionalism and willingness to call out poor and or harmful standards of care, gives me permission to not dumb down my voice as a woman, and as a highly intelligent one as well.
- I’m deeply grateful to Laura for her work, and want to acknowledge the huge courage and effort it must have taken and takes to do all of what Laura has done. Thank you for who you are and what you have done and are doing.
