The Case of Nicola Bulley: Day 2 of the Coroner's Inquest

In this episode, Laura discusses the events of Day 2 of the Coroner's Inquest into the death of Nicola Bulley. Nicola's family members, including her parents, sister, and partner, gave evidence to the court, stating that she was "full of beans" and making future plans the day and night before she disappeared.

Louise Cunningham, who called an ambulance due to concerns about Nicola's health, explained that Nicola had been struggling after coming off HRT but was back to her usual self once she went back on it, limited her alcohol intake and that she was excited about a business deal and future plans she had. She also explained that there was no way Nicola would have left her dog, Willow, unattended on January 27.

Nicola's family asked the Coroner to find her death as an accident based on the evidence presented during the hearing. Coroner Dr James Adeley handed down his findings today that Nicola's death was an accidental death. However, Laura raises important questions about how Nicola ended up in the water, why it took police divers so long to find her body, and why the police released sensitive personal information weeks into the investigation.
